At Raymond, we have outstanding employees, so we decided to feature some of them on our blog. We’d like to highlight Judah Williams, Carpenter General Foreman for our Las Vegas region.
Judah has been in the construction industry for 26 years, and with Raymond for 23. During this time, he has been able to work on some of Raymond’s most high-profile projects, including World Market Center, MGM Grand Signature Condos, Caesars Palace Forum Shops, and Simplot World Headquarters (Boise, ID).
Judah has a well-rounded skill set as a carpenter and has become known for his work building and flying exterior panels. Exterior panel work can be hazardous due to extreme heights, leading-edge conditions that require 100% fall protection, and working in tight conditions with crane operators that are flying heavy loads. Judah has built a reputation with his peers, superintendents, and customers for keeping everyone on his crew working productively and safely. He takes a proactive approach to safety and works closely with the Las Vegas safety team to come up with solutions that mitigate hazards on the job site.
Recent projects that Judah has completed include:
Fontainebleau Parking Garage – Raymond performed exterior framing, thermal insulation, EIFS, louver installation, painting, and joint sealants for WA Richardson. To install the louvers, Raymond flew them into place on the building. Raymond craned space frames to the building by raising them over beams at the loading dock.
Durango Casino & Resort – Raymond designed, manufactured, and installed EIFS panels for the exterior of Durango tower. Raymond used a very fine Free Form finish, which took expertise and discipline to complete without any imperfections.
Centennial Hills Hospital – Contracted by SR Construction, Raymond completed framing, drywall, tape, paint, wallcovering, plaster, insulation, and acoustical ceilings. Raymond prefabricated insulated metal wall panels offsite, to be flown into place on the building.
Currently, Judah is working on the Spark Hotel project, where Raymond is performing prefabricated exterior panels with EIFS, metal framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, paint, and wallcovering for Martin Harris Construction.
When Judah is not at work, he enjoys frisbee golf and going camping and fishing with his wife and seven children.
