Durango Casino & Resort

Posted March 12, 2024

Durango Casino & Resort is a $750 million development comprised of 200-plus hotel rooms, several food-and-beverage outlets, and meeting and convention space. Durango also features 83,000 square feet of casino space and a state-of-the-art sports book.

Raymond was contracted by WA Richardson to perform interior tower framing and finishes, exterior framing and sheathing, exterior insulation and finishing systems (EIFS), EIFS panels, aluminum composite material (ACM) panels, faux painting, structural cabanas, dining trellises, GFRC and FRP breeze block panels and canopies, and cement board faux finished planking on exterior soffits and ceilings.

Raymond took on these diverse scopes of work to help the owner and WA Richardson achieve their design visions, complete final details of the project, and open the resort to the public on schedule.

Raymond designed, manufactured, and installed the exterior breeze block canopies at Durango, that are truly one of kind.

In some areas of the project, Raymond used EPS foam in place of GFRC trims to increase value and meet time constraints.

Raymond designed, manufactured, and installed EIFS panels for the exterior of the Durango tower. Raymond used a very fine Free Form finish, which took expertise and discipline to complete without any imperfections.

Raymond used unique rolling scaffolding units designed specifically for the onsite EIFS panel yard.

Raymond helped design an application and installation method for exterior foliage at the podium.

The project team at Durango overcame numerous challenges from evolving design, manpower requirements, an expedited schedule, to material availability and selection. Fortunately, Raymond was brought on the project early to help design the customer’s vision (sometimes from only pictures and renderings), and ultimately deliver a quality product, on time.

Congratulations to the Raymond team that put all their effort and professionalism into bringing the Durango Casino & Resort to life!
