Raymond recently participated in the National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) Camp San Diego through the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). This annual summer camp provides high school age girls with hands-on construction experience, helping to also build skills in communication, teamwork, and self-confidence.
Throughout the weeklong event, Raymond volunteered time and material to teach campers various construction techniques like roof sheathing, solar panel installation, FRAMECAD prefabricated framing, interior drywall, exterior siding, housekeeping, weather barrier installation, and painting. Raymond also delivered a presentation on the advancements taking place at a current project, the Legacy International Center.
Created as a community outreach to increase interest in the construction industry among women, Camp NAWIC San Diego provides skills that last long after the program ends. For more information about the program, sponsorship, and participation visit http://nawicsd.org/project/camp-nawic/
