Raymond’s San Diego region participated in the San Diego Building Industry’s annual Baja Challenge by helping to build a home for a family in need just south of the San Diego border. Raymond was invited to the team challenge by the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Raymond and Whiting-Turner brought 35 employee volunteers, along with their family and friends, with the goal of building twenty homes in total by all participating companies.
The Project Mercy Baja Challenge has been taking place for 24 years now with the goal of improving the standard of living and reducing health hazards for impoverished families in the colonies east of Tijuana, Mexico. This year’s event, which took place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, was a coordinated effort between the non-profit organization Project Mercy and Baja Challenge. Raymond provided a volunteer building crew as well as donations for building materials.
The family who received support from this year’s Baja Build expressed their gratitude, saying, “What you are doing is a tremendous blessing to our family.” Each year, Raymond feels deeply honored to give back to our neighboring communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such generous organizations and industry partners.
